As
the principal biographer of Robert Wechsler, it is important for me
document the events of his professional and personal life. Occasionally
it becomes necessary to provide these events for Mr. Wechsler. I propose
to provide Mr. Wechsler with two
3-dimensional cardboard letters—a capital “V” and
a capital “R”—that are in fact the first letters of
the words “vision”
and “request.”
Mr. Wechsler will be obligated to manage and maintain these letters
for the duration of his time at the A-Z West compound. Mr. Wechsler
is also obligated to be photographed interacting with the letters, and
to send this documentation to his principal biographer. At the culminating
event on Saturday, May 19th, Mr. Wechsler will be free to utilize the
letters as a component of a larger spectacle. It is hoped that if Mr.
Wechsler chooses to set the letters on fire, that he will do so in a
controlled and professional manner. If the letters threaten to burn
to the point of conflagration, then Mr. Wechsler is advised to beat
down the flames using his own person.
Alas
that the letters never arrived...
