Take a helium balloon, put an LED inside and you have a glowing balloon. Take several dozen glowing balloons, wire them into
a grid, add a control circuit to switch them on and off at will, and you have a lighter than air, programmable pixilated display.
Even if your Space Invader pattern is corrupt, it still looks great floating enormous in the night sky.
